Mrs. Edith Marie Davis Stephens, age 77, of West Jefferson passed away Monday night at Ashe Assisted Living. Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 2pm at Bald Mountain Cemetery with Rev. John Elledge and Rev. Chris Goodman officiating. The body will lie in state from 12-1:15 on Friday at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Stephens was born on March 23, 1943 in Tazewell County, VA to the late Howard and Florence Martin Davis. Edith enjoyed her garden and cooking for her family. Edith worked at several places including Quality Clothing, Central Food, and Dollar General. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and will be missed by all. Edith is survived by her husband; Ronda Stephens, three sons; Graylen Stephens of West Jefferson, Wayne Stephens better known as “Dickie” and wife Wanda of Millers Creek, and Mark Stephens of West Jefferson, one daughter; Revonda Matheson and husband Bradley of Mouth of Wilson, VA, one brother; Mac Davis and wife Virginia of Sterling, VA, one sister; Irma Mitchell and husband Les of Tazewell, VA, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
