Mr. Herbert Ray Baldwin, age 78, of Warrensville passed away Saturday afternoon, August 29, 2020 at Watauga Medical Center. Private graveside services will be held. Mr. Baldwin was born in Ashe County on January 18, 1942 to the late Clarence and Retha Osborne Baldwin. He worked as an Automotive Mechanic. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Chad Baldwin and Dean Baldwin; a sister, Mary Farmer. He is survived by: his wife, Louella Wyatt Baldwin; a son, Rocky Baldwin and wife, Cherie, of West Jefferson; four daughters, Roxane Gilbert and husband, Odie, of West Jefferson, Robin King and friend, Kenneth Richardson, of West Jefferson, Gina Woods and husband, Richard, of Creston and Rachel Shepherd and husband, Brandon, of West Jefferson; a sister, Margaret Faircloth, of Jefferson; ten grandchildren, Nathaniel Gilbert and wife, Trish, of Laurel Springs, Jeremiah Gilbert and wife, Brittany, of Aberdeen, NC, Nicolette Gilbert and friend Jason Severt, of West Jefferson, Amelia McNeill and husband, Kendall, of Jefferson, Samantha and Katie Woods, of Creston, Trabey Shepherd, Wyatt Shepherd, Aidenne Shepherd and Stella Shepherd, all of West Jefferson; four great-grandchildren, Weston and Lukas Gilbert, of Laurel Springs and Axel and Lincoln Gilbert, of Aberdeen, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive.
