Mrs. Mary Janice Spruill Woodley, age 87, of West Jefferson passed away Monday evening, August 31, 2020 at Forest Ridge Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held at Miller Funeral Home in Edenton, NC. Mrs. Woodley was born in Washington county on May 6, 1933 to the late Phillip Murray and Anna Iolia Turner Spruill. Mrs. Woodley is survived by: three daughters, Michele Swart and husband, John, of Creston, Pam Davenport and husband, Marshall, of Creswell, NC and Darlene Woodley, of West Jefferson; three sisters, Jayne Opfer ,of Benson, NC, Laquita Gibbs, of Newport News, VA and Brenda Spruill, of Edenton, NC; five grandchildren, Chris Davenport and wife, Kacey, Marcie Wells and husband, David, Derek Swart and wife Michelle, Jenna McDonnell and husband, Marc and William Swart; ten great-grandchildren Miriam Davenport, Cooper Davenport, Pete Davenport, Silas Davenport, Cipie Swart, Ansel Swart, Lily McDonnell, Case McDonnell, Lucy McDonnell and Hardie McDonnell; several nieces and nephews also survive.
