Mr. Jesse Dean Griffitts, better known as “Dean”, age 89, of Crumpler passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 afternoon at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 12:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Senter Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Griffitts was born in Ashe County on July 14, 1931 to the late William and Lenna Mae Colvard Griffitts. Dean served in the United States Air Force for four years and retired from Roadway Express. Dean enjoyed eating at the round table at Shatley Springs with his friends. He was a loving father, grandfather, and will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by his wife; Lodena S. Griffitts, and two sisters; Irma Little and Sue Bledsoe. Mr. Griffitts is survived by one son; Craig Griffitts and wife Shelia of Thomasville, one daughter; Emily McGlamery and husband Jamie of Lexington, three sisters; Ruth Walker and husband Joe of Crumpler, Helen Goodman of Crumpler, and Peggy Griffitts of Morganton, four grandchildren; Tori Griffitts, Matt Griffitts, Anna McGlamery, and Will McGlamery, two brothers-in-law; Eddie Little of Jefferson, and Roger Bledsoe of Piney Creek, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial may be made to the donor’s choice.
