Mrs. Mary Wright Barker, better known as "Lib" age 76, of Warrensville, passed away Wednesday morning, November 4, 2009 at Segraves Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 1:00pm at Phoenix Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Dollar officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:30-1:00 pm Friday prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Barker was born in Ashe County on Sunday, January 8, 1933 to the late Walter Worth and Sarah Ann Brown Wright. She retired from Ashe Memorial Hospital after 25 years of service. She is survived by a daughter, Kathi Price and husband, Rick, of West Jefferson; three sons, Danny Barker and wife, Cindy, of Chatham, VA, Donnie Barker, of Manassas ,VA and Robert Barker and wife, Joni, of Chatham , VA; a brother, Jennings Carroll Wright, of Pikeville, KY; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
