Obituary of Mildred Rebecca Sluder

Mrs. Mildred Rebecca Miller Sluder, age 71, of Todd, passed away Monday morning, November 16, 2020 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Jones and Rev. David Lyalls officiating. A private burial will follow in the Woodford Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral services. Mrs. Sluder was born in Ashe County on January 9, 1949 to the late Ambrose and Ola McNeill Miller. She worked as a CNA at Ashe Services for Aging. She was a member at North Beaver Baptist Church. Mildred enjoyed caring for her family and friends; always putting others before herself. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson (RJ) Sluder on May 2, 2007; a daughter, Rebecca Ann Roland on July 15, 2001; a brother, Blaine Miller and a sister, Naomi Hartzog Mrs. Sluder is survived by: a daughter, Kara Sluder and companion, Scott Gentry, of Warrensville; four sisters, Sharon Trivett and husband, Talmadge, of West Jefferson, Lillian Miller, of West Jefferson, Joann Robinson and husband, John, of Grassy Creek and Patsy Ashley, of Wilkesboro; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
