Carl Louis Childers, age 84, Goldsboro, passed away Sunday evening, December 6, 2020, at New Hanover Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. He was born in Lansing, NC, and was a 20-year Air Force veteran. He was also a retired Industrial Engineer, having worked in several area companies. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service with full military honors at Wayne Memorial Park. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 63 years, Alene Vivian Childers. He is survived by his five children, Teresa Stallings (Keith), Gary Childers (Elizabeth), Karen Todd (Richard), Sharon McGary, and Warren Childers (Patti); two sisters, Anita Childers Miller of West Jefferson and Iris Childers Blevins of Crumpler; a brother, Terry Childers of Charlotte; his nine grandchildren, Sarah Childers Sapp (Eric), Aaron McGary, Carl Joseph Childers, Angela Chapin (Jonathan), Vivian Childers, Judy Miller (Dylan), Joyce Grokowsky (David), Zackary Childers, and Paige Childers; and also his great-grandchild, Ella Chapin.
