Mr. Walter Raleigh Roten, age 85, of Laurens, SC, formally of Ashe County, passed away Sunday in Laurens, SC. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at the Mt. Paddy Church of Christ in Christian Union with Rev. Tim Roten officiating. Burial will follow in the Kemp-Lewis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Mr. Roten is survived by: His wife-Ella Hodgson Roten 1 son Walter Roten of Laurens, South Carolina 2 daughters Ruby McBride of Simpsonville, SC Mary Mickleboro of Roswell, GA 2 sisters Ruth Calhoun of West Jefferson Jewell Roten of Todd Five Grandchildren & several nieces & nephews also survive. The family will be meeting at the home of Ruth Calhoun on Wednesday at 113 Central Buffalo Road in West Jefferson.
