Mrs. Sandra Gail Davis Painter, age 79, of West Jefferson passed away Friday night, December 18, 2020 at Watauga Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Painter was born in Gastonia, NC on June 17, 1941 to the late Charles Otis and Gladys Rice Davis. She worked as a secretary for a chemical company. She also was a foster parent for many years. She was also a huge animal lover. She was a loving mother and will be greatly missed. She is survived by: two sons, Chris Houser, of West Jefferson and Robert Houser, of Huntersville; a daughter, Lisa Houser, of West Jefferson; a brother, Chris Davis and beloved wife, Connie, of Garner; nephew Jason Davis and wife, Kate also survive. Her many cousins who were considered sisters to her. Sandra was full of love and life, faithful to her Savior, many rescued dogs and cats and Tarheel basketball. She was a member and former treasurer at Brookside Presbyterian ARP Church in Boone, NC. She loved antiques and turned her passion into businesses in Blowing Rock, NC and West Jefferson, NC. She never met a stranger.
