What a sad day today! I just discovered the passing of one of the kindest men I have ever known. Jim Watson was a true GEM in his industry (Steel Sales) and a mentor to me. When I came into a trade organization the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) that Jim was a member of I got the pleasure of spending time with one of the truly great ones. I can’t began to share with his loved ones and family what Jim Watson meant to me and our organization. I learned from Jim that work was a treat when you enjoy people and nobody was happier to work and have the opportunity to meet new people. In Jim’s honor The MBCEA-Carolinas started a scholarship in honor of Jim 6 years ago. Jim raised money for the educational needs of our members children for decades and this tribute was small in comparison to his efforts and always cheerful manner in raising funds. My heart is heavy but I can truly say I was blessed by knowing Jim. May he bring joy to his fellow angels. Reggie Moore

We are so sorry about Uncle Jim "GEM" passing away. I have had Aunt Mary, the family and friends on my mind since I got the call from Pam. I really hate I couldn't make it to the service 12/28/2020 due to work schedule in the office. I will make it to his celebration of life this year when time and pandemic allows us all to celebrate. I continue to pray and think of you often during this time. I know how difficult, at his wonderful life of 94 years and married to love of his life 70 years! So sad for us on earth but I truly see the happiness and no more pain with all the angels in heaven as he entered the gates and walked the streets of golf..I mean gold. Love you all!! Beth & Zach

I was so sorry to learn one of the nicest people I've ever known has passed. I'll always remember how patient and kind Mr. Watson was to me the many times I wandered uninvited into his garage/radio room as a kid. Jim truly was a GEM. Love and prayers to the Watson family from Tracy Fisher
