Mrs. Lena Gore Brown, age 80, of Crumpler, died Sunday night, November 15, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown was born in Grayson County, VA on Thursday, March 28, 1929 to the late Maggie and Wayne Gore. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by three brothers, Mack Gore, Trink Gore, Bill Gore and one sister, Mary Brown. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Jesse Clay Brown, better known as JC of Crumpler; two sons, Jerry Brown and wife Karen, of Taylorsville and Johnny Brown and wife Grace, of Crumpler; two daughters, Norma Adams and husband Mike, of West Jefferson and Marcia Coldiron and husband Sonny, of Jefferson; three brothers, Charles Gore and wife Jolene, of Mouth of Wilson, VA, John Gore and wife Lena, of Bulverde, Texas and Tommy Gore and wife Naomi, of Jefferson; two sisters, Edith Culleam, of Orlando, FL and Wanda Fangmeyer and husband Bob, of Rockville, MD; two sisters-in-law, Glenna Gore of Crumpler and Janie Gore of Shelbyville, KY; one brother-in-law, Robert Brown of Crumpler; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
