Obituary of Clara Jordan

Clara "Peggy" Jordan Fleetwood, NC July 26, 1942 November 16, 2009 Mrs. Clara Sheets Jordan, better known as "Peggy", age 65, of Fleetwood lost her battle with "ALS". Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Goodman, Rev. Lloyd Day and Rev. Charlie McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Sheets Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30-1:00pm on Friday, prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Jordan was born in Wilkes County on July 26, 1944 to the late Denny and Mae Dancy Sheets. She was graduated from Beaver Creek High School. She married James on June 23, 1962. She was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband, James Jordan of the home; two sons, Kevin Jordan and wife, Sherry, of Jefferson and Keith Jordan and wife, Tammy, of Jefferson; a daughter, Sharon Hurley, of Fleetwood; three sisters, Helen Surber, of Fleetwood, Gladys Brown, of West Jefferson and Ellen Mash, of Fleetwood; seven grandchildren, Phillip Shepherd, Samantha Blackburn, Ashley Robbins, Noble Jordan, Kirsten Jordan, Chelsey Hamm and Andy Jordan; three great-grandchildren, Aaron Blackburn, Adin Blackburn and Sawyer Jordan; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to thank everyone who visited and helped during Peggy's illness, your love and kindness is greatly appreciated.
