Mrs. Cathy Miller Sheets, age 70, of Jefferson passed away Saturday morning, February 13, 2021 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 3:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Julian Owen officiating. Burial will follow in the George Miller Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Sheets was born in Ashe County on August 2, 1950 to the late Edward Lum Miller and Isabelle Mash Miller. She was a member of Apple Grove Baptist church. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, quilting and cooking, especially her famous mac n cheese. She also enjoyed feeding humming bird. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she will be greatly missed. Mrs. Sheets is survived by: her husband, Cecil Ray Sheets; a son, Tony Sheets, of Lansing; a daughter, Norma Jean Miller and husband, Keith, of Lansing; two brothers, Robert Miller and wife, Helen and Dean Miller and wife, Diane, all of Lenoir; a sister, Carol Sheets, of Laurel Springs; three grandchildren, Tina Testerman and husband, Joey, of Lansing, Travis Wilcox, of Jefferson and Kendra Sheets, of Lansing; five great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Phoebe, Alex, Veronica and Samuel; several nieces and nephews also survive.
