Nellie H. Morris, age 92, passed on to Heaven February 19 after a long battle with Parkinson’s. She is predeceased by her parents, Russell & Myrtle Honeycutt, & her siblings, Ruth Maxwell, Lib Carpenter, & Abe Honeycutt. Her first marriage to Marvin Gobble, Sr. ended in divorce. Her second husband, Jesse Morris, predeceased her. Nellie is lovingly remembered by her two children, Lisa (John) Nelson, NC & Marvin (Joy) Gobble, Jr., as well as granddaughters Suzannah Pessagno and Emily Gobble, great-grandchildren Bodie, Beau, and Cal Butler, & many nieces & nephews. Born in Mt. Holly, NC, she worked as a lab nurse, real estate agent & cosmetic/fragrance sales associate at Belk of South Park, Charlotte. She won many sales awards and met celebrities Gloria Vanderbilt, Liz Taylor & Tammy Faye Bakker. Nellie loved spending time with her family, friends and pets. Nellie will be interred at the Mausoleum, Hillcrest Gardens, 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Highway in Mt. Holly, NC at 1pm on Saturday, February 27, 2021. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects, observing proper masking and social distancing. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Forest Ridge Assisted Living and to Medi Home Healthcare & Hospice.
