Obituary of Charlie Wayne Farmer

Mr. Charlie Wayne Farmer, age 72, of Jefferson, passed away Friday night, February 19, 2021 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. William Greer, Rev. Greg Poe, and Rev. Danny Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in in West Jefferson City Cemetery. The body will lie in state on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 6-8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Farmer was born in Ashe County on February 14, 1949 to the late Elmer and Dora Pennington Farmer. Charlie was a member at Living By Faith Church. Charlie enjoyed fishing and going to Pigeon Forge for the Christmas lights and flea markets. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and will be missed by all. He was also preceded in death by three daughters; Amanda, Shellie, and Kellie Farmer, and three brothers; Ned, Ervin, and June Farmer. Mr. Farmer is survived by his wife; Mary “Rose Bud” Farmer, one son; Robbie Farmer and wife Shannon of Creston, one daughter; Melissa Greer and husband William of Jefferson, two brothers; Bill Farmer of Creston and Paul Farmer of West Jefferson, two sisters; Pearl Johnson of Creston, and Gerri Gibson and husband Charles of Jacksonville, FL, nine grandchildren; Molly Greer, Lindsey Greer, Caleb Greer, Tyler Farmer, Autumn Farmer, Summer Farmer, Emily Ray, Austin Miller and Brooke Matkins, one great-grandchild; Hailey Ray, his dog; Gizmo, several nieces and nephews also survived. Flowers accepted! The family will be meeting at the home of Melissa Greer, 427 Cook Street, Jefferson, NC 28640.
