Mrs. Faye Welch Fletcher, age 95, of Lansing died Friday morning, November 27, 2009 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 2pm at Long Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Shepherd and Rev. Rex Eldreth officiating. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Sunday, one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Mrs. Fletcher was born in Ashe County on Monday, June 8, 1914 to the late Robert and Lula Davis Welch. She taught school at White Oak and Lansing Elementary School. She is survived by a son, Jim Fletcher, of Wytheville, VA; two grandchildren Robert Fletcher, of Fredricksburg, VA and Allison Fletcher, of Austin, TX; two great-grandchildren, Lauren Fletcher and Ashley Fletcher; two nieces and two nephews also survive.
