Obituary of Charles Welborn Joyce
Charles Welborn Joyce, 75, entered his heavenly home on Thursday, February 25, 2021. He and his wife, Ann reside in West Jefferson, North Carolina.
Charles was born in Eden, North Carolina on March 23, 1945 to the late Lessie Eggleston Joyce and Odell Joyce. He was a graduate of Guilford College holding a Bachelor of Administrative Science Degree. He worked in the corporate world using his expertise skills in accounting and business administration. He met the love of his life, Ann Peach Joyce and they were married on his alumni campus on July 8, 1977. They made their home in Waynesboro, Virginia and opened two Daylight Doughnut shops. Their journey continued in residing in Marietta, Georgia and Apex, North Carolina. Charles left the corporate world and started his own business, Accounting Accountability, doing corporate and individual taxes. Charles and Ann's love for the mountains and being in a simple and quiet place lead them to West Jefferson, North Carolina where he continued his business. Charles was blessed and he cherished his three daughters. He also said he gained two more daughters and two sons through his marriage to Ann. Charles enjoyed being home watching his favorite show Gunsmoke with a coke and a pack of nabs in his hands. He and Ann could often be found dining at their favorite local spot, Sweet Louise's Café in West Jefferson.
Along with his parents, Charles was preceded by death by his brother, Larry Odell Joyce, an infant sister named Karen, and a son- in- law, Tim Stanley; his son and two granddaughters through marriage; Charles F. Hudson, III (Charlie), Lauren Ashley Raym, and Heather Ann Raym.
Charles is survived by his wife, Ann Peach Joyce, his daughters, Kris Joyce Bryan (Scott) of Stoneville, NC; Kathy Joyce Stanley of Hickory, NC; Kelly Joyce Ramsey of Troutman, NC; his daughters through marriage; Tammy Hudson Wright (Billy) of Fuquay-Varina, NC; Teresa Hudson Moylan (Paul)of Ashburnham, MA; and his son through marriage; Nicholas Andrew Hudson (Lucrezia) of Newark, DE; his sister, Linda Joyce Hall (Doug) of Eden NC; and his brother-in-law, Don Peach (Anita) of Lincolnton, NC. He was a very beloved Pappy to 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Boone Family Funeral Home, 2005 Mt. Jefferson Road, West Jefferson, NC will be assisting with private arrangements for the family. Due to COVID-19, the family will have a celebration of his life later this year.
