Mr. Freeman Eugene Bauguess, Jr. better known as "June|" age 77, of West Jefferson passed away Saturday morning, February 27, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 3:00pm at Mt Paddy Church with Rev. Tim Roten officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The body will lie in state on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 1:00-3:00pm; two hours prior to the funeral service. Mr. Bauguess was born in Ashe County on December 16, 1943 to the late Freeman Eugene and Joyce Eller Bauguess. He worked for 35 years at Friendly Shoe Store. June enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was also preceded in death by a brother, David Kyle Bauguess. Mr. Bauguess is survived by: his wife, of 49 years of marriage, Ella Patrick Bauguess; a sister, Bracel Roten and husband, J.R. of West Jefferson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
