Obituary of Mabel Ruth Ham

Mabel Ruth Ham, age 89, of Aberdeen, Maryland passed away on March 14, 2021 at her home. Born in Little Horse Creek Township, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Lida and Minnie (Hamm) Carpenter and wife of the late Edgar Ham. She retired in 1994 from Owens Illinois where she worked as a line operator for 10 years. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Havre de Grace and enjoyed spending time with her family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Larry Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Carpenter Fairview Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 11:30-1:00pm on Saturday, prior to the funeral service. Mabel is survived by her daughter, Donna Lea Jones of Joppatowne, MD; son, Kyle Dean Ham of Aberdeen, MD; grandchildren, Casey and Amanda Jones; sisters, Shirley Calhoun of West Jefferson, NC and Jeanette Ham of Bel Air, MD; and brother, Wade Allen Carpenter of West Jefferson, NC. Mabel comes from a very large extended family and is also survived many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Cyril Carpenter, Lake Carpenter, Cecil Carpenter and Dearl Carpenter and sister, Betty Roark. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carpenter Fairview Cemetery, 546 Beaver Dr., West Jefferson, NC 28694.
