Mrs. Alma Jean Garrett Parks, age 78, of Wilkesboro passed away Tuesday afternoon, March, 16, 2021 at Westwoods Hills. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brenda Faust and Bishop George Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Cold Branch Cemetery. The body will lie in state on Sunday from 12-2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Parks was born in Ashe County on September 22, 1942 to the late Pinkey Alexander and Myrtle Hamilton Garrett. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Dean Garrett, Junior Alexander Garrett and Danny Kay Garrett; four sisters, Betty Lou Garrett, Mary Katherine Garrett, Shirley Bailey and Joann Dalton; and one grandson, Eric Junior Parker. Alma is survived by her husband; Odell Parks of Traphill, one daughter; Sandy Gause of Gastonia, three brothers, Michael Garrett, of West Jefferson, Eric Garrett, of Lenoir, and Clifford Hamilton and wife Eleanor of Wilkesboro; three sisters, Diane Hayes, of Charlotte, Mildred Garrett, of West Jefferson and Valerie Garrett, of West Jefferson; one granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
