Ms. Stella Ruth Gilley, age 89, of Bel Air, MD, formerly of Ashe County, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Forest Hill Health & Rehabilitation in Forest Hill, MD. Graveside service will be held Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 11:00am at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Ms. Gilley was born in Ashe County on Thursday, December 18, 1919 to the late Robert and Victoria Beamon Gilley. She worked for Martin Marietta Bata Shoe Company and Western Electric. She was a great cook and enjoyed gardening and shopping. She is survived by her sister, Mabel Jones, of Bel Air, Maryland; several nieces and nephews also survive.
