Mrs. Jewel Nettie Miller Hardin, age 95, of West Jefferson passed away Thursday night, April 1, 2021 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Loren Lung officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Creek Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Monday; one hour prior to the funeral service. The family does ask for you to wear a face covering and to practice social distancing. Mrs. Hardin was born in Ashe County on May 6, 1925 to the late Ambrose and Jane Bowlin Miller. She was a devoted member of Beaver Creek Christian Church. She retired from Sara Lee Knit Products; after working over 30 years. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and quilting but most of all working outside in her yard. She was a loving mother and grandmother; she will be greatly missed. She was also preceded by her husband, Paul Enoch Hardin; a son, John Hardin; two sisters, Julus Patrick and Irene Miller; two brothers, Bill Miller and Lonnie Miller. Mrs. Hardin is survived by: two daughters, Elizabeth Roten and husband, James, of Creston and Betty Owens and husband, Dwight, of West Jefferson; three grandchildren, David Roten, of Apex, Amanda Thompson and husband, Randy, of west Jefferson and Crystal Icenhour, of Taylorsville; several nieces and nephews also survive.
