Mrs. Virginia Rose Brown Hash, better known as "Rose" age 81, of Grassy Creek passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 2:00pm at New River Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Jones, Rev. David Blevins and Rev. Mark Wagg officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Hash was born in Ashe County on March 6, 1940. She was raised by Charlie and Clyde Hardin Lyall. She was a school bus driver for Ashe Central High School. She was a dedicated member to New River Baptist Church. Rose enjoyed reading her Bible, going to church and telling people about Jesus Christ. She was a devoted mother and grandmother; she will be deeply missed. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Hash, a grandson, Parker Hobbs; two sisters and a brother. Mrs. Hash is survived by: a son, Billy Hash better known as "Pudge" and his fiancé Jennifer Weaver, of Grassy Creek; two daughters, Kelly Hobbs and husband, Billy, of Statesville and Doris Seymore and husband, Randy, of Grassy Creek; two sisters, Margaret Ham and husband, Larry, of Morganton and Lola Calloway and husband, J.B., of West Jefferson; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
