Mrs. Joyce Ann Way, better known as "Short Stack" age 67, of Jefferson passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 12:00pm at Pond Mtn. Cemetery with Evangelist Wilma Medley and Rev. Kirby McNeill officiating. Mrs. Way was born in Oxford, Pennsylvania on March 16, 1954 to the late Theodore Roosevelt and Gladys Louanna Keys Way. She was a truck driver. She had a passion for animals, especially cats. She was preceded in death by three brothers, George Way, Robert Wyatt and Dean Wyatt; three sisters, Judy Gearhert, Dottie Way and Brenda (Ruth) Compton; her cat, Miss Katie Sue Way. Mrs. Way is survived by: four sons, Ken Phipps, Joe Phipps, Jr. and wife, Adriana, of Terre Hill, Pennsylvania, Michael Phipps, Sr. and wife, Dawn, of Oxford, Pennsylvania and Peter Phipps and wife, Julie, of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren; a very dear friend Wilma Medley and her husband, Fred, of Piney Creek, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive.
