Mr. Hayden Burke Woodie, age 90, of West Jefferson passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Alleghany Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 3pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Steve LeaShomb, Rev. Jamie Lewis, and Rev. Tim Call officiating. Services will also be held at the Yellow Hill Baptist Church at 4:30pm. Burial will follow in the Yellow Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 1-3pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Hayden was born in Ashe County on September 7, 1930 to the late Rowie Blackburn Pliner Baker Woodie. He is survived by three brothers; Charles Dayton Woodie of Purlear, Dorman Woodie and wife Lucille of Ronda, Thomas Woodie and wife Hilda of Purlear, three sisters; Anna Belle Woodie Cox of West Jefferson, Velma Woodie Ellis of Wilkesboro, and Agnus Bailey of Harrisville, Missouri, several nieces and nephews also survive.
