To our Gardner family,
I know right now your are grieving as Vicki and I are. But, we are also celebrating, not an end to a precious, giving life, but the glorious beginning of her eternal life. Belle was a unique lady who was both tough and compassionate, serious and funny and who touched countless lives and made a very positive difference in those lives. I always made a point of teasing her and she would always call me "boy" and give me that "look". I will look forward to sometime in the future hearing that familiar voice yell at me, "hey boy!" and I will know who it is.
God has promised that we who mourn will be comforted. We will find that comfort in many forms, most especially by sharing our loss, but also from the blessings Belle's life brought to us all.
We love you all so much and continue to pray.
Vicki and Mike

She was always such an inspiration to me from my earliest memories at church--having her in preschool all the way until she was diagnosed. I always met her as I was going into the church on Sunday mornings and I loved that hug, smile, and words of encouragement and faith in God everytime I saw her. She will be greatly missed by all those lucky enough to have known her!

As a high school student, I underwent two thyroid surgeries. Mrs. Gardner was always concerned about my health and was always the first to check on me. She was a wonderful caring teacher. As I began attending FBC, as an adult, she was still always checking on me and my family. You never forget those who show love and kindness. She will be greatly missed in our community and church. Thank you family for sharing this precious lady with all of us. May God's love surround you during this sad time.

Mrs. Gardner was one of my favorite teachers....she was always a lady first and foremost.....I probably learned more about history in my Junior year of high school than any other year. After I graduated and would run into her while out in the community...she would always remember something I had done in class or something that happened..and we would share a laugh about it. She was truly a blessing to a lot of students and will be missed. May God Bless each of you during this time of sorrow.

To the family of my dear second mom, Ms. Belle. Having known your dear mother all my life, growing up around her and your family, having her as a teacher and her being my mother's best friend, I'm deeply saddened by the loss of such a beloved lady. She was a shining light that touched all our lives. I have such fond memories of her and Chuck, your family, picking out Christmas trees each year, visiting your house and playing as a kid, and admiring her beautiful emerald ring that almost never left her finger. Her sense of humor was one in a million and her smile lit up the room. She will always be 'mama Belle' to me and will live in my heart forever. My prayers are with you all. God bless. Ginger

Gardner Family, There is alot of history between our two families from the time our Dads worked together and their families were friends till the present when Ken and Billie were angel neighbors to Mom. Belle was the best example I have ever met of a true southern lady. She was gracious and kind and always had a friendly word for everyone. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers in this moment of sadness.

Grandmama was such a beautiful person. She was always so loving and encouraging in all aspects of my life. I loved talking to her on the phone while I was studying abroad to tell her about everything that was going on. However, most of the time she already knew what was happening! I told her the first thing that I wanted when I came to visit after returning home was some of her brunswick stew. When I came to visit for Christmas that was the first thing I ate, and it was better than I had remembered! I will always remember those special phone calls and visits I shared with her. She has impacted my life because of her undconditional love and support, and I will miss her greatly. I love you so much Grandmama.

Grandmama was always there when we would get sick at school to pick us up. She would already have a blanket and a pillow waiting for us on the coach. Even if we could not eat anything she would always make us a toasted ham and cheese sandwich that no one else could make. I will never for get the phone calls on my birthday. She always would call when I was on my way to work. I will miss getting that phone call tomorrow. I love and will miss you Grandmama!

What can I say about the lady that I called Grandmomma... she was without a doubt a great lady, and after reading all these other comments it just reminds me of the numerous lives that she and Granddaddy touched. I am alreay missing her very much after I came home from the Tree Lot it seemed strange not to make that call or go by to tell her that I was back home. She was always the one in the know of the rest of the family was doing or where they were going, keeping tabs on everyone. I greatful that she is not suffering anymore and I am sure is having a great reunion in heaven with Granddaddy and the rest of the family that passed on before her.
Love you Grandmomma,
Richie

I never met Mrs. Gardner, but I feel as if I know her though hearing of her from her granddaughter. She was a remarkable woman, as is evident by her influence on those lives she touched. She was well-loved, I know. I hope to engender some small fraction of that amount of love and devotion.
