Mrs. Rosa Theo Johnston-Smith, age 90, of Crumpler, passed away on Sunday morning, August 24, 2008 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 11:00am at Newell Presbyterian Church in Charlotte with Rev. Brad Busiek officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:15-11:00am on Saturday, prior to the memorial service. Mrs. Smith was born on September 23, 1917 to the late Clifford Teague and Lilie Spencer Teague. She was a retired nurses aide from the Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. She worked with expected mothers. She is survived by a son, Edgar L. Johnston, of Crumpler; two daughters, W. Rosemary Johnston, of Crumpler and Janice Miles and husband, Claude, of Senatobia, MS; two sisters, Syvil Canup, of Laurel Springs and R.E. Reynolds, of Statesville; one grandson, Jonathan Miles, of Senatobia, MS; several nieces and nephews also survives.
