Mrs. Ardna Howell Lail, age 96, of Todd, died Wednesday morning, December 9, 2009 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Houck officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Lail was born in Ashe County on Saturday, April 26, 1913 to the late Robert and Katie Houck Howell. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.O. Lail, on September 27, 2000; a son, Garland Lail; three brothers, Oakley Howell, Ashley Howell and Hoyle Howell; three sisters, Unice Davis, Alma Hayes and Georgia Bodenhimer. Mrs Lail is survived by a son, Gilbert Lail, of Todd; two daughters, Linda Spillane, of Todd and Sarah Greene and husband, Bobby, of Todd; a sister, Kathleen Miller, of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren Robert Greene, of Todd, Rich Hardin, of Eatonton, GA and Lydia Lail, of Taylorsville; seven great-grandchildren Kaleb Greene, Hunter Greene, Chloe Greene, Maddie Hardin, Alex Hardin, William Hardin and Cassandra Helton; several nieces and nephews also survive.
