Mr. Elsworth James Zimmerman, age 84, of West Jefferson passed away Tuesday morning, October 7, 2008 at his residence. Funeral mass will be held Monday, October 13, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Joseph Ding officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday night at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Zimmerman was born in Homerville, Ohio on March 16, 1924 to the late Elsworth Elias and Hazel May Linenger Zimmerman. He was a member at the Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Bernadette Kincade Zimmerman; three sons, Kennith Zimmerman and wife Helena of San Antonio, TX, John Zimmerman and wife Mary Jane of Austin, TX, James Zimmerman and wife Carol of Houston, TX; one daughter, Mary Zimmerman of San Antonio, TX; one brother, Burton Zimmerman and wife Olga of Denver, NC; six grandchildren.
