Kathy, Peanut and family - -
My memories of your mother are all great. When I think of your mother, I think of your entire family. When we would go visit Mamaw and Papaw Lawrence in Mocksville every other week I couldn't wait to ask if I could come play with both of you girls. I remember how your parents welcomed myself, Mark, and Donna into your home but me the most because I was born in between the two of you. I loved us going out under the trees at your house and talking. Caathy and Peanut, you will never know how these memories have stayed with me for a lifetime. They are such happy memories for me because I loved both of you girls dearly. Part of this may be because I knew even as a child that daddy had a little sister that died, I think she was four but the Lawrence boys never knew her and daddy ALWAYS said Beatrice was like his sister. I have never forgotten that. Then I remember how we used to come visit you once you moved back to the mountains. You girls had a family that I will NEVER, EVER forget because of the love that flowed from all four of you. It rippled through your home no matter where you lived. Donna and I both want you to know that the service was beautiful. We know what it's like to lose a mother but not to have lost both parents. As sad as you are right now the one thing we all know is that what the preacher said is so true of how we will all be reunited with all of our families that have life everlasting one day. That is the comfort we find in these times of sorrow. Your flowers were stunning, and Donna and I don't know of anything you two could have done to have made the lasting memories of your mother any more beautiful. You girls did a GREAT job. We are thinking of you and praying for your comfort. We were very sad that we couldn't attend the meal and talk to you a little more but Donna had to get her children back at 6:00 so we had to get back down the mountain. Please know how much Donna and I are thinking of your entire family during these times.
We love you all.

If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to heaven
And bring you back again.
Farewell words were spoken
Not much time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why.
Our hearts still ache in sadness
And tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know.
But now we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store.
You'll never be forgotten
We pledge to you today,
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you'll always stay.

God Needed Another Angel To Watch Over You & Me...

Dear Mama,
I knew this day would probably come in my lifetime and I thought I was ready. But, I was wrong.
I miss you so much it feels like I can't even breathe sometimes.
Today is "grocery" day. How I wish I could go grocery shopping for you and come have supper with you.
I know you don't need groceries any more or any of the things of this world. And, I know you're the BEST you've ever been. And the HAPPIEST!
For that I am so thankful and I am truly happy for you, Mama. I really am.
But, I am so sad. I long so very much just to hear your voice or to see you.
I know I will see you and Daddy again. I know that without question. But, right now I just miss you so much.
I want you to know how very honored I am that you are my Mama.
I love you so much!!!!
Sometimes I used to think when I was coming to visit on Wednesdays and Sundays that I was doing you a favor.
But, I realize the gift was truly mine. Thank you so much for all the time you gave me. All the time we shared even when we were just sitting together and not even saying anything.
I long to hear your voice, Mama. I long to have 10 messages on the answering machine when I get home. I just long to see your face.
I know this isn't possible in this life but I do know I will see you again.
Until then, Mama, just know how very proud I am of you!
You are a lady!!!
And, Mama, you were absolutely BEAUTIFUL on Sunday.
And the peace and presence of God was all around you.
You touched the lives of so many people.
I hope you truly know how very much I loved you and how very much I will always love you.
Thank you for being my Mama.
I love you!
