Mr. Ted Anderson, age 92, of Lansing, the Helton Community passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 2:00pm at Long Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Shepherd and Rev. Dwight Shepherd officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Friday, one hour prior to the memorial service. Mr. Anderson was born in Ashe County on Saturday, October 20, 1917 to the late Charles Winfield and Cibbie Brooks Anderson. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Griffitts Anderson; a son, Johnny Roger Anderson. Mr. Anderson is survived by a daughter, Dare Eldreth and husband, Ray, of Lansing; two grandchildren, Trevor Anderson and wife, Amy, of Lansing and Cody Anderson, of Lansing; three great-grandchildren, Liberty, Lana and Aidan; several nieces and nephews also survive.
