Howard Vernon Hamm, age 74, of Creston, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at his home. He was born May 15, 1935 to the late Earl Hamm and the late Lona Ray Osborne. He worked as a Boiler maker for Sunoco. He is survived by his loving companion of 9 years: Marie Hoosier; four daughters: Sandra Hamm of Mountain City, TN, Vicki Bielicki, of Wilmington, DE, Brenda Cook of Elkton, MD, Lisa Jackson and husband Steve, of Northeast, MD, two sisters: Lois Stanburg, of Lafayette, LA, Georgie Southerland, of Mountain City, TN, two brothers: Joe Hamm of Creston, NC and Roy Hamm of Creston, NC; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Nelson's Chapel Baptist Church in Mountain City by Rev. Lonnie Denny and Rev. Mike Farmer. Burial will follow in the Roten Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Thursday, prior to the funeral service.
