Mrs. Mary Kime Gentry Jones, age 92, of Jefferson passed away Monday morning, April 19, 2010 at her son's home in Nathans Creek. Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 3:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. J.D. Walton officiating. Mrs. Jones was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, December 18, 1917 to the late Jess and Maude Rowe Gentry. She worked as a clerk in a retail store. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ross Hubert Jones; a daughter, Brenda Darnell; four brothers, Cleve Gentry, John Gentry, Ben Gentry and Tom Gentry and a sister, Lucy Jones. Mrs. Jones is survived by a son, Lannie Jones and wife, Marty, of Nathans Creek; a brother Jess Gentry and wife, Violet, of Sparta; a sister, Cynthia Sturdivant, of North Wilkesboro; five grandchildren, Lane Jones and wife, Kim, of West Jefferson, Landon Jones and wife, Meghan, of Crumpler, Beth Albino and husband, Juan, of Warrensville, Suzette Shelton and husband, Mark, of Stokesdale, NC and Traci Cornelius and husband, David, of Winston-Salem, NC; five great-grandchildren, Lyric Jones, Sebastian Albino, Mia Albino, Matthew Shelton and Christina Shelton; several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: High Country Healthcare Hospice, PO Box 421, Jefferson, NC 28640. The family will be meeting at the home of Lannie Jones, 102 Harley Boy's Hollar in Nathans Creek.
