Mr. Clarence Albert Dodson, age 76, of Crumpler passed away Monday, April 19, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the New River Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from1:00 until 2:00pm pm Thursday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Dodson was born in Watauga County to the late William Russell and June Mae Mode Dodson on November 5, 1933. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Dodson is survived by; his wife, Retta Phipps Dodson of the home; two sons, Clarence Albert Dodson, Jr. of Grassy Creek, William Dodson of Vera Beach, FL; six daughters, Darlene Hamilton of Vera Beach, FL, Sheila Phipps of Crumpler, NC, Ramona Jackson of Moultrie, GA, Linda Roten, of Laurel Springs, Brenda Brooks, of Lansing and Dena Arentt, of Crumpler; one sister, Betty Clawson of Vale, NC; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
