Mrs. Nellie E. Medley, age 81, of Jefferson passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 20, 2010 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held n Friday, April 23, 2010 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jeff Barlow officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30pm on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Medley was born in Pond Mountain, NC on Wednesday, August 22, 1928 to the late Charles and Emaline Shepherd Eldreth. She was a Homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Jefferson Church of the Nazarene. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Woodrow Medley; two brothers, William Eldreth and Walter Eldreth. Mrs. Medley is survived by three sons, Dean Eldreth and wife, Eleanor, of West Jefferson, Dalas Medley and wife Sheila, of Fleetwood and David Medley and wife, Kathy, of West Grove, PA; two daughters, Nancy Kerley and husband, Don, of North Wilkesboro and Nina Royal and husband, Glenn, of Jefferson; two brothers, Lee Eldreth and wife, Mannon,, of West Jefferson and Chuck Eldreth and wife, Pat, of West Jefferson; two sisters-in-law, Opal Eldreth, of West Jefferson and Elsie Eldreth, of West Jefferson; twelve grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
