Mr. Daniel David Houck, age 70, of West Jefferson passed away Tuesday night, April 27, 2010 James H Quillen Veteran Hospital in Mountain Home, TN. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 3:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in the Bald Mountain Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm on Thursday, two hours prior to the funeral service. Mr. Houck was born in Ashe County on Sunday, January 14, 1940 to the late David Alex and Lottie Grubb Houck. He served in the United States Army. He worked as a Logger. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Stike Houck; a brother-in-law, Meredith Stike, of West Jefferson; a sister-in-law, Dinah Gourley and husband, George, of West Jefferson; special nieces, Kathy Speaks, Keta Roberts and Beth Houck, all of West Jefferson; a special nephew, Steve Houck, of West Jefferson also survive.
