Catherine, as her beloved husband Chris called her, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 14, 2008. Cathy fought a courageous three and a half year battle against breast cancer with grace, dignity and a peace that surpasses all understanding. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Beverly Taylor of Millennium, NC. Cathy was born in Ahoskie, NC on March 28, 1954. She was a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Dept. of Ashe Memorial Hospital, Jefferson, NC. Catherine is survived by her husband Chris Miller of Crumpler, NC. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Tonya Cook and husband Wayne of Richmond, VA, Bitsy Kerr and husband Wayne of Eggleston, VA, Pete Taylor and wife Janet of Browns Summit, NC, Bernie Taylor and wife Evelyn of Newport News, VA, JoAnne Snook and husband Jim of Manlius, NY. Cathy was the best aunt and great-aunt a family could have and she had many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. Cathy was a loved member of the Miller family and is survived by Delores and Fred Mom and Dad Miller of West Jefferson, NC and Chris brothers and sister, Joni Ellis and husband Bill of Hughesville, MD, Fred Miller and wife Ellisa of Boone, NC, Tim Miller and wife Belinda of St. Augustine, FL. Cathy was a member of Obids Country Church in West Jefferson, NC. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 19, 2008 down at the New River Commons Area on Hidden Mountain Lane, Crumpler, NC. The service will be conducted by Pastor Anthony Saralegui, Cathy and Chriss Pastor. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Ashe Really Cares, P.O. Box 850, Jefferson, NC 28640, in memory of Cathy. The family wishes to thank the Ashe County community for their prayers, support and love during Cathys illness.
