Gregory Dean Vannoy, better known as "Greg", age 50 of Jefferson died Friday, July 2, 2010 at Johnson City Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 5, 2010 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Shepherd and Rev. Tim Roten officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Monday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Greg was born in Princeton, West Virginia on Sunday, December 27, 1959 to the late Danny Vannoy and Glenna Bishop Vannoy. He graduated from Ashe Central High School in 1978. Mr. Vannoy is survived by his mother, Glenna Vannoy, of Jefferson; two brothers, Steve Vannoy and wife, Annette, of Jefferson and Scott Vannoy and wife, Jessica, of West Jefferson; a sister, Tammy Vannoy, of West Jefferson; a half brother, Jerry Reedy, of Hampton, Tennessee; a niece, Arinna Vannoy also survive. The family will be meeting at the home of Tammy Vannoy at 1388 Buck Mountain Road in West Jefferson.
