Mrs. Ruby Hazel Dollar Childers, age 94, of Jefferson passed away Wednesday morning, July 7, 2010 at Seagraves Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 9, 2010 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Dollar & Rev. Chris Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00-2:00pm one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Childers was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, April 19, 1916 to the late Vance and Effie Porter Dollar. She was a Homemaker. She is survived by two sons, Carl Childers and wife, Ailene, of Goldsboro and Terry Childers, of Charlotte; two daughters, Anita Miller and husband, Ralph, of Jefferson and Iris Blevins and husband, Jack, of Crumpler; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; five great, great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will meet at the home of Ralph & Anita Miller at 421 Northwest Drive in Jefferson.
