Mr. Blaine Garfield Blevins Jr. better known as "June", age 62, of Whitetop, VA, passed away Wednesday night at his residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 11th, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Helton Valley Baptist Church with Rev. David Greer and Rev. David Lyalls officiating. Burial will follow in the Walls Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 10th, 2010 at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Blevins was born in Ashe County on Thursday, October 16, 1947 to the late Blaine Garfield and Pauline Perkins Blevins. He worked as a Supervisor at Leviton Manufacturing Company. June was a member of Helton Valley Baptist Church. He loved to farm and to go fishing with the grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eula Payne and Beulah Wiles; three brothers, L.D. Blevins, Harry Blevins and David Allen Blevins. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Rupard Blevins; a son, Richard Blevins, and wife, Sherry, of Whitetop, VA; a daughter, Dedra Buchanan, and husband, Scott, Jr. of Whitetop, VA; a brother, Garland Blevins and wife, Ruth, of Fairfax, VA; three sisters, Maxie Anders, of Independence, VA, Mattie Ford and husband, Billy, of Lebanon, TN and Helen Vanover and husband, Donnie, of Calhoun, KY; four grandchildren, Rebecca Blevins, Brandon Buchanan, Brady Buchanan and Emily Blevins; several nieces and nephews also survive.
