Carroll Ray Hamby, age 70, of Fleetwood, died Saturday morning, August 14, 2010 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 3:00pm at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Evan Moore and Rev. David Blackburn officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mount Lawn Mausoleum in Boone. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm on Sunday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Hamby was born in Tazewell County, Virginia to the late Cyars and Rebecca Wright Hamby. He worked for Vermont American. He is survived by his wife, Travis Hamby, of Fleetwood; a son Timothy Hamby, and wife, Teresa, of Fleetwood; a daughter Vicki Moore and husband, Chris, of Fleetwood; a grandson, Evan Moore and wife, Kayla of Fleetwood; two granddaughters, Amanda Hamby and Alicia Hamby, both of Fleetwood; a great-grandchild, Ava Moore, of Fleetwood also survive.
