Obituary of Hurshel Lee Lambert

Mr. Hurshel Lee Lambert, age 66, of West Jefferson passed away Monday morning, August 16, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.B. Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Masonic rites. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Thursday, two hours prior to the funeral service. Mr. Lambert was born in Ashe County on Saturday, July 29, 1944 to the late Charlie Lambert and Lorene Blevins Lambert. He worked thirty years in the maintenance department at Sprague Electric. He was a member of the West Jefferson United Methodist Church, Ashe Masonic Lodge and Ashe County Shrine Club. He loved to fish, the Duke Blue Devils and John Deere Tractors. He took great pride in his yard. He was a man of integrity and distinction. There will never be another one like him; his spirit will live on in all of us that remain behind. He is survived by his wife, Betty Miller Lambert, after 41 years of marriage; his mother, Lorene Blevins Lambert, of Crumpler; two brothers, Tommy Lambert and Mike Lambert and wife, Rita, all of Crumpler; two sisters, Nancy Roten and husband, Jerry, of Advance, NC and Grace Brown and husband, Johnny, of Crumpler. He is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as two nephews he considered his own, Morgan Howell and Matthew Howell, both of East Bend, NC.
