Mrs. Sarah Marie Clayton Bare, age 73, of Jefferson, passed away Friday morning, October 24, 2008 at Segraves Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Todd Brewer and Angel Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Sunday, October 26, 2008 one hour prior to the funeral service at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Bare was born in Stanly County, NC on December 21, 1934 to the late Lee Roy and Sarah Hodges Clayton. She was a graduate of Appalachian Teachers College in Boone, NC. Mrs. Bare was a school teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband William Howard Bare. She is survived by one brother-in-law, Neal Bare and wife Paige of West Jefferson; two sister-in-laws, Nina Bare and Louise Hartzog both of West Jefferson; special cousin, Linda Ketner and several other cousins.
