Mr. Ira Mason Eagle, age 89, of Whitetop, Virginia passed away Friday afternoon, August 27, 2010 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Morris, Rev. Bob Hull and Rev. T.A. Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitetop Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Eagle was born in West Virginia on Friday, June 10, 1921 to the late John Mason and Lucy Vaughan Eagle. He worked as a Farmer and a Welder. He is survived by two sons, Frank Eagle and wife, Jackie, of Jefferson and Charles Eagle and wife, Freda, of Delta, PA; a daughter, Shirley Jarvis and husband, Odell, of Jarrettsville, Maryland; a sister, Mary Schrock, of Baltimore, Maryland; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; a great, great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mt. Rogers Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, 51 Firehouse Road, Whitetop, VA 24292.
