Mrs. Ruby Thompson McAfee, age 64, of Crumpler, passed away Monday afternoon, August 30, 2010 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Martha Kincaid and Rev. Russell Sheets officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. McAfee was born in Ashe County on July 9, 1946 to the late William and Gladys Richardson Thompson. She worked at Sara Lee Knit Products and Ashe County Transportation Authority. She was a member of the Grassy Creek United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Mac McAfee; a son, Kevin Miller and wife, Elisa, of West Jefferson; a step son, Lennie McAfee, of Mocksville; a step daughter, Lonnie McAfee, of Crumpler; a grandson, Kaden Miller; two step grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Caldera and Dalton Lee McAfee; several nieces and nephews also survive.
