Mrs. Vivian Ruth Greer Hardin, age 82, of West Jefferson died Friday night, September 17, 2010 at her home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 20, 2010 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Osborne & Rev. Rex Eldreth officiating. Burial will follow in the Hardin Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, September 20, 2010 from 12:00- 2:00pm, two hours prior to the service at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Hardin was born in Todd, NC on Monday, August 20, 1928 to the late Leonard and Ruth Trivette Greer. She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Hardin of West Jefferson, two daughters, Barbara Ann Miller and husband Eddie, of Jefferson, Robin Renee Osborne and husband Robert, of West Jefferson; a daughter-in-law, Marsha Osborne Hardin, of Mooresville, NC; two sisters, Edna Greer, of Jefferson, Billy Sue Svedberg, of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Miller and husband Rodney of West Jefferson, Chris Hardin of Mooresville, NC, James Edward Miller and wife Charity, of North Wilkesboro, Lindsy Hardin, of Mooresville, Kimberli Renee Osborne, of West Jefferson; one great-grandchild, Elaine Michelle Miller, of West Jefferson; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hardin is preceded in death by a son, Steven Wayne Hardin; two brothers, Melville T. Greer Sr. and Bryan T. Greer; a sister, Jacqueline Greer Mullis.
