Mrs. Ella Virginia Hunter Houck, age 90, of Warrensville, passed away Monday evening, October 25, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Dollar Officiating. Burial will follow in the Hunter Cemetery in Warrensville. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm on Friday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Houck was born in Ashe County on Saturday, July 17, 1920 to the late Charles Edgar and Josephine Warren Hunter. She loved to quilt, puzzle books and work in her flower garden. She is survived by her husband, of 61 years of marriage, Orvil "Shorty" Houck; two daughters, Lynn Miller, of Jefferson and Katie Phipps and husband, Joe, of Jefferson; two sisters, Mary Young and husband, Charles, of Baltimore, MD and Irene Jones, of Lovonia, Michigan; special caregivers, Rachel Brooks, Lucy Dollar, Barbara Royal and Kayla Shrader; several nieces and nephews also survive.
