Mrs. Mabel Elliott McNeill, age 76, of Lansing, the Deep Ford Community, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 13, 2010 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Joe Blevins and Rev. J.D. Walton officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Tuesday, two hours prior to the funeral service. Mrs. McNeill was born in Ashe County on Friday, December 8, 1933 to the late Orin and Callie Melissa Landreth Elliott. After working 22 years, Mabel retired from Ashe County Health Department. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard McNeill on March 8, 2007. She is survived by three sons, Larry McNeill and wife, Liz, of Lansing, Garry McNeill and wife, Nancy, of West Jefferson and Rick McNeill and wife, Tammy, of Jefferson; a daughter, Brenda Severt and husband, Jerry, of Lansing; two sisters, Gaye Goss, of Lansing and Faye Eldreth, of Elkton, MD; six grandchildren Brandy Scott, Amy Colvard and husband, Kevin, of Crumpler, Justin Severt and wife, Summer, of Lansing, Marcus Severt, of Lansing, Kayla McNeill and Maison McNeill, both of Jefferson; seven great grandchildren, Ryan Scott, Conner Scott, Morgan Scott, Mattie Colvard, Eli Colvard, Emmie Colvard and Macie Severt; several nieces and nephews also survive.
