Mr. Jimmy Ervin Boggs, age 64, of West Jefferson, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Hoffman officiating.. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm on Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Boggs was born in Ashe County to Clyde and Betty Jo Wheeler Boggs. He served in the United States Army. He retired from General Motors. He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Lawrence Boggs; his parents, Clyde & Betty Jo Boggs, of Jefferson; three sons, Steven Boggs, of Westover, Maryland, Joshua Boggs, of West Jefferson and Jimmy Boggs, Jr., of Dundalk, Maryland; three daughters, Beth Fisher and husband, Kenny, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, Jennifer Boggs, of Port Deposit, Maryland and Kymberly Boggs, of West Jefferson; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Simmons, Katie Fisher, Jeffery Boggs, Travis Boggs, Chandler Boggs, Hendrix Griffin and Serenity Boggs; a great-grandchild, Jake Foster; several nieces and nephews also survive.
