Mr. Charles Lenwood Flanagan, better known as "Pete", age 43, of Laurel Springs passed away Saturday night, January 15, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Witherspoon and Rev. Bill Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Lansing Peace Haven Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Thursday, two hours prior to the funeral service. Pete was born in Ashe County on May 19, 1967 to Herbert "Lee and Alice "Faye" Miller Flanagan. He worked at Speciality Cars in North Wilkesboro, detailing cars. He loved to fish and work on cars, especially Dodge's. He was always willing to help anyone out. He is survived by his wife Amanda Lewis Flanagan; a son, Cody Flanagan and wife, Christina, of West Jefferson; a daughter, Tara Lewis and husband, David, of Creston; his parents, Lee & Faye Miller Flanagan, of West Jefferson; three brothers, Tim Flanagan and wife, Pat, of Louisiana, Edward Flanagan and wife, Elsie, of Fleetwood and Stacy Flanagan and wife, Vicki, of Crumpler; a sister, Robin Calhoun, of West Jefferson; three grandchildren Leigh Lewis, Evan Lewis and David Flanagan; several nieces and nephews also survive.
